Would you recommend making an offer on a property before I’m sold subject to contract?
Definitely not. Because you fall in love with it, and then when someone else comes along and buys it, it can be upsetting. You’d be much better off to wait until you're in a position to be able to move forward. We also often find that people who aren't sold might make really high offers to compensate for not being in a great position. If you're patient and wait until you're sold, you might find that the property has been reduced in price. We understand that it's really hard not to offer, but the best thing to do is let the agent know that you're interested, and that when you're sold, you'd like to talk about the property further.
