I’ve become part of a bidding war. How do I move forward in this situation? 

The best thing to do in this situation is to offer what you can afford, what you want to pay for the property and what it's worth to you. Don't be hesitant to offer over the asking price if this property is perfect for you, because it could be one or two years before another one pops up. We do absolutely recommend setting a limit of what you are willing and able to offer because it's very easy to get caught in the emotion. If you do lose the property, you can walk away happy in the knowledge that you didn't pay more than it was worth.
